Hazmat International Holdings Sponsor Great Ormond Street PKU Children’s Xmas Party

Hazmat International Holding’s generously sponsored Great Ormond Street Hospital’s party, for children who suffer with the rare disease Phenylketonuria. Phenylketonuria is an autosomal recessive metabolic genetic disorder characterized by a deficiency in the hepatic enzyme phenylalanine hydroxylase (PAH). Since its discovery, there have been many advances in its treatment. It can now be managed by the patient with little or no side-effects other than the inconvenience of managing the treatment, but for very young children, this generally requires round the clock care and attention by parent(s), guardians and nursing professionals.
The hospital was founded in 1852 as the Hospital for Sick Children, making it the first hospital providing in-patient beds specifically for children. Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC) provides the hospital with additional funding for its redevelopment, research and new equipment. Great Ormond Street Hospital launched its public consultation to become a foundation trust on 9 February 2010, and hopes to be a foundation Trust by early 2011. Each year, the hospital needs to raise at least £50 million pounds a year to sustain the high quality of care it offers to sick children from all over the world. We encourage anyone that views this article to make a donation, however big or small to this fantastic cause so that the hospital can continue to offer the world class care its famous for.
